Creating bootable USB stick using Rufus:

1. First of all Install Rufus on your Windows 11

Requirements for Rufus:

• Windows 7(or Higher)

• Download ISO (of Ubuntu)

• Minimum 8 GB flash drive

2. Launch Rufus App

For further follow these steps:

• Select Device(i.e. inserted USB drive)• Set Boot Selection to the downloaded Ubuntu ISO

2. Installing Ubuntu on VMs

Installing Ubuntu on Virtual Machines is the easiest way to try out a new operating system without Installing primarily on your System(PC) . There are few Virtual Machines available in the internet like…VMWare, Oracle VM VirtualBox, Hyper-V, etc which are most popular among the rest VMs available on the internet.

Follow these steps to run Ubuntu successfully:

• Install VMware onon your System (Win. 11)

• At least 4 gb RAM on your system.
• Minimum 2 GHz Dual-core processor.
• Free storage of 10-15 gb.
• Open VMware Workstation and Create a new virtual machine
• Now Setup the target OS settings (Guest Operating System Installation) by choosing Installer disc image file(iso)i.e downloaded Ubuntu ISO file.
• After third process, You’ve to enter your Full name/ username and set password in Easy Install information section.
• Now, setup Virtual Machine Name And it’s default working location (can be changed later)
• Allocate size of disk space in Specify Disk capacity(Recommended size 20gb by default)
• You’re now Ready to Create Virtual Machineand all information will be displayed including selected locations and memory status.

Now select the RAM size according to your system’s ability to run it(recommended 2 gb, if your system’s RAM is 4gb)

• And lastly, Click on Power on this virtual machine to start and select launch modeas Install Ubuntu.

Now you’re all done. If you did all these above steps correctly, may you’ll not have any problems further.

3. Installing Ubuntu from Live CD/DVDs or live USB stick.

Note: Backup all your data before trying this process, to avoid any data loss or file corruption.

• If you want to run Ubuntu from bootable USB drive without Installing It on your system, then keep it in your mind that you’ll be not able to store any data/files on that live USB. [Try Ubuntu]
• To store and save data/files on the USB drive you first need to install Ubuntu on your system (using as a persistent storage). [Install Ubuntu]

The Same process is used for Live CD/DVD to Run or Install Ubuntu after inserting live CD/DVD into disc drive and a booting up (Shutdown + Power On your PC)
