    Does Alexa Need WiFi?

To work, Alexa devices require a WiFi connection. Alexa is an Internet of Things device. A sensor records audio(when you ask a question) and sends it to the cloud via Wi-fi. It is then processed and sent back over Wi-fi to Alexa from cloud to answer your question.

How to connect Alexa to a new WiFi network with the app

Open the Alexa app, then tap Devices to connect Alexa with a new WiFi network. Select Echo & Alexa, then choose the Alexa device that you wish to connect to a new WiFi Network. Next, tap Change next WiFi Network to enter your WiFi password

    1. Open the Amazon Alexa App. The Alexa app can be downloaded from both the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Not all Alexa apps are authentic. Make sure to download the Alexa app from AMZN Mobile LLC.

    2. Next, tap Devices. This tab will appear in the bottom-right corner.

    3. Next, select Echo & Alexa.

    4. Next, select the Alexa device that you wish to connect to a new WiFi connection. Go back to the Devices screen, and then select All Devices. This will be to the right side of Echo & Alexa. If your device is still not visible, reset it and set up a new one. Check out this step-by-step guide to help you rest your Echo device.

Notice: You can ask Alexa for the name of your device if you forget it.

    5. Next, tap Change. This small text will appear to the right under WiFi Network.

    6. Next, tap No. You will need to hold the button down until your device enters setup mode. An Echo smart speaker will have an orange light as it enters setup mode.

    7. Next, put your Alexa device in setup mode and tap Continue.. Each Alexa device is unique, so be sure to review the app to determine which button to press. You will need to press the action button if you own an Echo smart speaker. This button is located on the top of your Echo device and has a dot in its middle.

    8. Next, select your Alexa device. If you don’t see your Alexa device in the list, tap Device not listed? at the bottom of the app.

    9. Next, select your WiFi network. You can skip this step if you have already saved a WiFi network.

    10. Then enter your WiFi password.

    11. Wait for your Alexa to connect to the new WiFi network.
You can connect Alexa to WiFi using a browser if you are unable to use the mobile app. This is how to connect Alexa with WiFi without using the app.
